What The Heart Reads

Vivien Yates had a job at a bookstore and a good social life. Then one balmy summer afternoon, Vivien gets a call — her boss-slash-best friend has been rushed to hospital. Things go from bad to worse when the owner passes away, leaving a partial share of the bookstore to Vivien.

The other half?

Cue Lucas Belmont, the estranged son of the deceased bookstore owner. He’s unaware of the owner, and worse, he doesn’t seem to care about the store, either. All he wants to do is sell the place and get back to London.

It’s up to Vivien to show Lucas why the store matters, and why the legacy of the Gilded Finch must be maintained. Even if it isn’t really her store, or her legacy — someone has to maintain the store, for the good of Cullfield.
